James C. Mullen
James C. Mullen is our President and Chief Executive Officer and has served in these positions since the merger in November 2003. Mr. Mullen joined Biogen Inc. in 1989. He was named Chief Executive Officer in 2000 and Chairman in 2002. Prior to being named CEO and Chairman, he held the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer (1999-2000); Vice President, International (1996-1999); Vice President, Operations (1992-1996); and Director, Facilities and Engineering (1989-1992). Mr. Mullen is a member of the Board of Directors of PerkinElmer Inc. and the Biomedical Science Careers Program Inc. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A. from Villanova University.

Cecil Pickett, Ph.D.
Cecil Pickett, Ph.D., is our President, Research and Development, and has served in that position since September 2006. Prior to joining Biogen Idec, Dr. Pickett held several senior R&D positions, most recently as a Corporate Senior Vice President of Schering Plough Corp. & President of Schering-Plough Research Institute. In that capacity, Dr. Pickett helped bring several large and small molecule candidates into the Schering-Plough clinical development pipeline. Prior to joining Schering-Plough, he held several senior R&D positions at Merck & Co. Dr. Pickett received his B.Sc. in biology from California State University at Hayward and his Ph.D. in cell biology from University of California at Los Angeles.

Susan H. Alexander
Susan H. Alexander is our Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and has served in these positions since January 2006. Prior to that, Ms. Alexander had served as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of PAREXEL International Corp. since September 2003. From June 2001 to September 2003, Ms. Alexander served as General Counsel of IONA Technologies. From January 1995 to May 2001, Ms. Alexander served as Counsel at Cabot Corp. Prior to that, Ms. Alexander was a partner of the law firms of Hinckley, Allen & Snyder and Fine & Ambrogne.

Paul J. Clancy
Paul J. Clancy is our Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and has served in these positions since August 2007. Mr. Clancy has also served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Vice President of Business Planning at Biogen Idec. Prior to the merger, Mr. Clancy had served as Vice President of Portfolio at Biogen Inc. since 2003. He joined the company in 2001 as Vice President, US Marketing. Before joining Biogen, Mr. Clancy spent 13 years at PepsiCo, serving in a range of financial and general management positions including most recently Vice President and General Manager of their Great West Business Unit.

John M. Dunn
John M. Dunn is our Executive Vice President, New Ventures and has served in that position since the merger in November 2003. Mr. Dunn was our Senior Vice President, Legal and Compliance, and General Counsel from January 2002 to November 2003. Prior to that, he was a partner at the law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop LLP, specializing in corporate and business representation of public and private companies.

Robert A. Hamm
Robert A. Hamm is our Executive Vice President, Pharmaceutical Operations & Technology and has served in that position since October 2007. Prior to that, Mr. Hamm had served as our Senior Vice President, Neurology Strategic Business Unit since January 2006. He became Senior Vice President, Immunology Business Unit after the merger in November 2003 and served in the same capacity with Biogen Inc. from November 2002 until the merger. Since joining Biogen in 1994, Mr. Hamm has served in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility, including Senior Vice President, Europe, Africa, Canada and Middle East from October 2001 to November 2002; Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Biogen from October 2000 to October 2001; Vice President, Manufacturing from June 1999 to October 2000; and Director, Northern Europe and Distributors from November 1996 until June 1999. From 1987 to 1994, Mr. Hamm held a variety of management positions at Syntex Laboratories Corp., including Director of Operations and New Product Planning, and Manager of Materials, Logistics and Contract Manufacturing.

Hans Peter Hasler
Hans Peter Hasler is our Executive Vice President, Global Neurology, Head of International and has served in that position since October 2007. Mr. Hasler has managed our international business since 2003, serving as Senior Vice President, International Strategic Business Unit and as Executive Vice President, International of Biogen Inc. from July 2003 until the merger. He joined Biogen as Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations in August 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Hasler was at Wyeth, where he had served as Senior Vice President, Head of Global Strategic Marketing since 1998. He was also a member of the Wyeth Executive Committee and was chairman of the Commercial Council. From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Hasler served in a variety of senior management positions for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, including Managing Director of Wyeth Group in Germany, General Manager of Wyeth in Switzerland and General Manager of Central Eastern Europe. Prior to joining Wyeth, Mr. Hasler served as the Head of Pharma Division at Abbott AG. Mr. Hasler is a member of the Board of Directors of Schweizerhall Holding AG and Santhera Pharmaceuticals.

Faheem Hasnain
Faheem Hasnain is our Executive Vice President, Oncology Rheumatology Strategic Business Unit and has served in that position since October 2007. Prior to that, Mr. Hasnain had served as Senior Vice President, Oncology Rheumatology Strategic Business Unit since February 2007 and as Senior Vice President, Oncology Strategic Business Unit from October 2004. Before joining Biogen Idec, he served as President, Oncology Therapeutics Network at Bristol-Myers Squibb from March 2002 to September 2004. From January 2001 to February 2002, Mr. Hasnain served as Vice President, Global eBusiness at GlaxoSmithKline, and prior to 2000, he served in key commercial and entrepreneurial roles within GlaxoSmithKline and its predecessor organizations, spanning global eBusiness, international commercial operations, sales and marketing.

Michael F. MacLean
Michael F. MacLean is our Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller and has served in that position since December 2006. Mr. MacLean joined Biogen Idec in October 2006 as Senior Vice President. Prior to that, Mr. MacLean was a managing director of Huron Consulting, where he provided support regarding financial reporting to management and boards of directors of Fortune 500 companies. From June 2002 to October 2005, Mr. MacLean was a partner at KPMG, and from September 1999 to May 2002, he was a partner of Arthur Andersen LLP.

Craig Eric Schneier, Ph.D.
Craig Eric Schneier, Ph.D. is our Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Public Affairs & Corporate Communications and has served in that position since the merger in November 2003. Dr. Schneier was previously Executive Vice President, Human Resources of Biogen Inc., a position he held since January 2003. He joined Biogen in 2001 as Senior Vice President, Strategic Organization Design and Effectiveness, after having served as an external consultant to the company for eight years. Prior to that, Dr. Schneier was president of his own management consulting firm in Princeton, NJ, where he provided consulting services to more than 70 of the Fortune 100 companies, as well as several of the largest European and Asian firms. Dr. Schneier held a tenured professorship at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business and has held teaching positions at the business schools of the University of Michigan and Columbia University as well as at the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College.

Mark C. Wiggins
Mark C. Wiggins is our Executive Vice President, Corporate and Business Development and has served in that position since July 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Wiggins served as our Senior Vice President, Business Development from November 2003 to July 2004; Vice President, Marketing and Business Development from November 2000 to November 2003; and Vice President , Business Development from May 1998 to November 2000. From 1996 to 1998, he was Vice President, Business Development and Marketing for Hybridon. From 1986 to 1996, he held various positions of increasing responsibility at Schering-Plough Corp., including Director of Business Development.
