Biogen Idec has a tradition of supporting communities in which we live and work. The company sponsors and participates in clothing drives, blood drives, volunteer days, and activities that support the multiple sclerosis, cancer and psoriasis communities. Biogen Idec also supports community-based organizations in the areas of healthcare, science education and the arts.
Biogen Idec’s most recent initiative in the area of science education is the Community Laboratory, a state-of-the-art teaching facility on-site at the company’s Cambridge headquarters for local students and teachers that offers programs in the area of biotechnology.
In 2003, the company was named Corporate Citizen of the Year by the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, primarily for its efforts in the community.
