Description
Initially USA based (1 to 3 months, in RTP, North Carolina), followed by assignment to Denmark (up to 3 years), this position will be responsible for the management (including staffing, planning, budgeting, scheduling, reporting, etc.) of all Denmark ILS (International Large Scale) Project Automation activities, primarily the Manufacturing Control System (an Emerson DeltaV DCS with MES), as well as all associated instrumentation and skid mounted PLC’s, the facility Building Management System (BMS) and all and site-wide systems. This position will have several direct reports (Project Automation Engineers), as well as contract and consulting personnel. As a member of the Project Management Team this position will also play an integral part in strategic decision-making, as well as Project Cost/Schedule control and review. Upon project completion the position will return to the USA.
Qualifications
Knowledge of industry standards and guidelines, e.g., GAMP, S88.01, S95.
Ability to read and understand P&ID’s, electrical drawings and instrumentation datasheets/schematics.
Prior Project (Automation) Management experience in engineering, construction, commissioning or validation of capital projects for the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
Prior experience managing contractors and consultants.
Previous manufacturing experience in a GMP environment or previous architectural/engineering firm experience.
Prior experience with DeltaV, PLC’s and associated instrument systems.
Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and other Enterprise/IT systems preferred
Automation Commissioning and Validation experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 25%
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (BS) or equivalent, with a minimum of 8 years related industry experience.
