Description
Maintains and troubleshoots all PLC and SCADA hardware and software to support the validated biopharmaceutical manufacturing process. Creates software design specifications, implements new control strategies and develops software test protocols in support of new products and processes. Specifies control system hardware and directs equipment installations. Performs instrumentation startup and troubleshoots process control systems and reviews control panel layout and design including power distribution, grounding requirements and I/O assignments by performing the following duties:
1) Conducts automation for process improvements or new equipment.
2) Validates and tests software.
3) Troubleshoots software and hardware.
4) Maintains training, develops goals and tracks progress
Qualifications
Practical knowledge and application of GMP’s and EMEA regulations.
Eight years experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environment.
Competency in DCS, PLC, DAS systems.
Proficiency in Lotus Notes, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and MS Project.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work rotating shifts, extended shifts and weekends.
Experience programming in Allen Bradley PLC and Intellution SCADA environments.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech production support equipment, such as, autoclaves, washers, cell culture, and WFI production.
Experience programming in a DCS environment (DeltaV)
Education
University Degree with a minimum of 6-8 years of related industry experience
