The environment for marketing biologic medicines has become more competitive, and customers beyond the traditional physician prescribers have grown more important. Commercial payers, the government, consumers and employers, as well as intermediaries such as specialty pharmacies and PBMs now have a significant impact on the way therapies are delivered, paid for and consumed.
The Senior Manager, Customer Development will have overall responsibility for Biogen Idec’s approach to these important channels. He or she will work closely with the Director, Customer Development, in the planning and execution of strategies and tactics that will influence these customers and contribute to Biogen Idec’s overall success. He or she will also collaborate with Biogen Idec brand teams in neurology and oncology in the development of these strategies and tactics. In addition, he or she will have responsibility for liasing with Biogen Idec field teams, including account managers and sales representatives, in ensuring stellar execution of these tactics.
The successful senior manager will have demonstrated:

The successful Senior Manager will also have experience in commercial operations in a biopharmaceutical company, specifically physician, payer or patient marketing/marketing strategy or related experience. Knowledge of and experience with key customer groups such as commercial payers or CMS is a plus.
BA/BS in life sciences, economics or a related field. MBA desired.
